Annual Spirit of the Holidays program pledges support to local nonprofits

ImageSince 2008, Debbie Gann of Home Attendant Care has encouraged others to skip giving traditional corporate gifts and make monetary donations to local nonprofits instead. The results of her efforts have led to thousands of dollars being funneled into local charities.

“Charitable organizations do an incredible job serving members of our community, and their needs are often greatest during the holiday season. We think the simple act of reallocating a company’s corporate gift giving budget into nonprofits is a win-win situation,” shares Gann.Image

At Home Attendant Care, four charities from Whatcom and Skagit Counties have been selected to receive donations this year. They include Bellingham Food Bank, Alzheimer Society of Washington, Marianne’s House and Skagit County Community Action Agency.

“We appreciate the part local citizens and businesses have played in helping Home Attendant Care succeed over the last 30 years – the Spirit of the Holidays program is a meaningful way we can give back.”

HAC engages the help of clients, employees and business associates by tucking program information inside their annual Christmas card. Recipients are asked to help decide which of the four nonprofits will receive the largest donation from Home Attendant Care.
