Home Attendant Care plans 5th Annual Spirit of the Holidays program

Local businesses are invited to join Home Attendant Care (HAC) in their 5th Annual Spirit of the Holidays program.

“Each year we invite the business community to join us in forgoing traditional corporate gifts and making monetary donations to local charities instead; doing so can make a significant impact in our local community,” says Debbie Gann, director of Home Attendant Care.

Gann founded the program in 2008 as a way to honor the spirit of the holiday season in a meaningful way while supporting Whatcom and Skagit County charities.

At Home Attendant Care, seven charities have been selected to receive funds this year including Whatcom Hospice Foundation, Bellingham Food Bank, Skagit and Whatcom Humane Societies, Blue Skies for Children, and Skagit County Community Action Agency.  Clients, employees and business associates participate in a contest that helps decide which charity will receive the largest donation.  Click to download a voting form.

“Feedback on the program has been overwhelmingly positive.  People genuinely appreciate the idea of charitable giving instead of receiving a promotional item they do not necessarily need; it’s a win-win situation.”

Those wishing to start a Spirit of the Holidays program at their business or place of employment can contact Gann for details.
